Compatibility:

When choosing a Med Accessories sensor, please keep the following factors in mind:

Compatibility: Verify that the sensor connector is compatible with the socket on your patient monitor. Different monitors may have different types of connectors, such as 5-pin or 6-pin connectors. Ensure that the sensor connector aligns with your monitor's socket.

Patient Terminal Type: Determine whether you require a snap or clip type of patient terminal for the sensor. Some sensors have snap-style connectors for easy attachment to the patient's finger or earlobe, while others use clip-style connectors for a secure grip on the finger. Choose the appropriate terminal type based on your preference and patient comfort.

Patient Population: Select a sensor specifically designed for the age group of the patient you are monitoring. Sensors are available for different age groups, such as adults, pediatrics, or neonates. Confirm that the sensor you choose is suitable for the intended patient population.

In addition to the sensors mentioned earlier, we offer a variety of SpO2 sensors to cater to specific needs:

Adult Finger Clip SpO2 Sensor: Designed for adults weighing over 40 kg, it is applied to the index finger or other fingers for measurement.

Pediatric Finger Clip SpO2 Sensor: Intended for pediatric patients weighing between 10 kg and 40 kg, it is applied to the index finger or other fingers for measurement.

Adult Silicone SpO2 Sensor: Suitable for adults weighing over 40 kg, it is applied to the index finger or other fingers for measurement.

Pediatric Silicone SpO2 Sensor: Designed for pediatric patients weighing between 10 kg and 40 kg, it is applied to the index finger or other fingers for measurement.

Infant Silicone Wrap SpO2 Sensor: Suitable for neonates weighing 1-4 kg, infants weighing 3-15 kg, and pediatric patients weighing over 10 kg, it can be applied to the pediatric index or other fingers, neonate's foot, or infant's great toe for measurement.

Adult Ear Clip SpO2 Sensor: Specifically designed for adults weighing over 40 kg, it is applied to the ear for measurement. Please note that this sensor should only be used with a pulse oximeter that has an autoconditioning power function.

Animal SpO2 Sensor: Intended for use with dogs and cats, it can be applied to the ear or tongue for measurement. Please note that this sensor should only be used with an animal pulse oximeter or a pulse oximeter that has an autoconditioning power function.

Disposable SpO2 Sensor: Available for both adults and infants, these sensors are designed for single-use and should be disposed of after each use.

nstallation/Utilization/Maintenance:

To ensure proper installation, utilization, and maintenance of Med Accessories sensors and their connecting cables, please follow the instructions below:

Patient:

Place the SpO2 sensor on the patient at the appropriate measurement site.

Application:

Before each use, clean the sensor and its cable.

Place the sensor on the index finger, ensuring that the finger is fully inserted and the tip of the finger rests against the finger stop inside the sensor.

Alternatively, you can use small-sized thumb, middle and ring fingers, as well as the little finger or the big toe as measurement sites.

Make sure the fingernail is located under the finger stop on the SpO2 sensor clamp.

Avoid placing the sensor on the same arm as the blood pressure cuff, arterial catheter, or intravascular line.

Remove all nail polish as it can affect accuracy.

Do not use the sensor inside or near an MRI.

Avoid having intense light sources near the sensor.

For long-term use, change the measurement site every 4 hours to maintain the integrity of the patient's skin.

In the case of restless patients or excessive motion, use Med Accessories Soft tip, wrap, or multi-site sensor to help secure the sensor to the patient.

Maintenance:

Regularly inspect the sensor and its cable for any signs of wear or damage. If any damage is detected, discontinue use and replace with a new sensor.

Clean the sensor and cable before each use according to the recommended cleaning instructions provided by Med Accessories.

Store the sensors in a clean and dry environment, following the storage guidelines provided by Med Accessories.

Follow any additional maintenance instructions provided by Med Accessories specific to the sensors you are using.
